Commercial Loan Processor

About the Job:

Job purpose & Scope

The commercial loan processor will play a vital role in facilitating the commercial loan process, ensuring accurate documentation, compliance with regulatory requirements, and efficient communication. This role requires exceptional multitasking skills, a customer-focused approach, and a strong understanding of lending practices and procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

Loan Application Management:

  • Review and analyze commercial loan applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Obtain and verify required documentation, including financial statements, credit reports, appraisals, and legal documents.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Prepare, review, and organize loan documents to ensure compliance with banking regulations, internal policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all loan files meet regulatory standards.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Act as the primary liaison between borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and other departments to ensure timely processing.
  • Address and resolve documentation issues or discrepancies.
  • Provide updates to borrowers and stakeholders throughout the loan process.

Risk Assessment Support:

  • Assist in assessing borrower creditworthiness by analyzing financial data and supporting documentation.
  • Identify and escalate potential risks or irregularities to management.

Record Maintenance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in loan management systems.
  • Ensure all data entry is precise and complies with audit standards.

Customer Service:

  • Deliver exceptional service by addressing borrower inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Guide borrowers through the loan process and clarify procedures or requirements as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in loan processing, banking, or financial services, preferably in a commercial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of lending regulations, documentation requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Proficient in loan management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Knowledge, Skills, and abilities:

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and credit assessment is a plus.
